What do the Item Quality ratings mean?

Sellers rate the quality of every item they list for sale at Half.com. These ratings let you make an informed decision about each item. Here are the quality rating guidelines sellers use:

Video Games

Brand New

  • New

  • Never played

  • Perfect condition

  • No damage

  • Items must still be in shrinkwrap (import music may be out of shrinkwrap)

Like New

  • Item still in shrink wrap or looks as if it was just taken out of shrink wrap

  • No wear and tear

  • All facets of product flawless and intact

Very Good

  • Case can be scuffed and scratched

  • All artwork and inserts included

  • CD and DVDs don't show wear

  • No scratches or scuffs

Good

  • Minor damage to jewel case (scuffs or cracks) or item cover (scuff marks, scratching, or cracks)

  • Cover art and liner notes included for a CD. VHS and DVD box included

  • Video game instructions included

  • No skipping on CD/DVD

  • No fuzzy/snowy frames on VHS tape

Acceptable

  • CD cases can be cracked

  • Original packaging not included but CD/DVD needs to be in a generic case and VHS needs to be in a generic sleeve

  • Original artwork or inserts missing

  • Disk can be scratched and scuffed

  • Cartridge-only video games

Unacceptable – These items cannot be sold on Half.com:

  • CDs and DVDs that skip, jump, freeze, or otherwise don't function properly

  • VHS tapes that produce poor quality images when played

  • Imported DVDs (Half.com is for the sale of U.S. region 1 DVDs)

  • Imported region-free DVDs (region-free DVDs manufactured in the U.S. may be sold)

  • Promotional music items

  • Jewel cases with promotional marks (saw cuts, punch-outs, drill holes, UPC strikes)
