How do I redeem a Half.com gift certificate?
When you get a gift certificate from Half.com you will be able to redeem it by simply clicking on the "Redeem" button in the email. If your email client does not allow you to see HTML content you will need to copy the link from the text version of the email and paste it into the address bar in your browser. You can also enter your gift certificate code into the gift certificates box in the Shopping Cart directly.
** Important: The gift certificate balance will not be credited to your account until you sign into your account.
Can I get the remainder of the gift certificate paid out in cash?
Half.com gift certificates cannot be paid out. Your account will retain the remaining balance of the gift certificate, and you can use that balance towards a future purchase!
Why do I need a credit card if my gift certificate covers the cost of the purchase?
All members on Half.com need a valid credit card to make a purchase. This is for age verification as well as fraud protection for all Half.com members. If your gift certificate covers the full cost of your purchase, your credit card is not charged.
Can I use my gift certificate with another coupon or discount?
Yes! Half.com gift certificates can be combined with coupons.
Where can I see my gift certificate balance?
Your gift certificate balance is shown on the order summary page at the time of your purchase. You will also receive a monthly reminder email showing the balance yet to be used along with the Gift Certificate code. If you don't remember what your balance is, you can see the balance by adding an item to your shopping cart, entering the gift certificate code and clicking the Redeem button. The balance will show on the checkout page. If you don't wish to continue with the purchase, just click the "Remove from Cart" link underneath the gift certificate balance, and it will be removed from that purchase with the full balance in tact. **Note: if you proceed to place your order, your gift certificate balance will be redeemed!
What can I buy with a Half.com gift certificate?
Gift certificates can be redeemed for any of the millions of Books, CDs, Videos, DVDs, Video Games and Game Systems available on Half.com. Gift Certificates cannot be used to purchase items on eBay or to purchase other Gift Certificates.
What happens if I only spend a portion of my gift certificate?
If the value of your gift certificate exceeds the total amount of your purchase, the balance will be retained in your account and we will send you an email notifying you that you have a balance. You can put the remaining balance of your gift certificate towards a future purchase.
What if the total of my order is greater than the amount of my gift certificate?
If the value of your gift certificate does not cover the amount of your purchase, then you must use a credit card to pay for the remaining balance of that purchase.
How do I buy a Half.com gift certificate?

How long will it take for my gift certificate order to arrive?
Gift certificates are delivered via email. Gift certificates are sent on the day specified on the gift certificate purchase page. You have the option of sending the gift certificate right away, or having the gift certificate sent automatically on a future date.
How can I keep track of my gift certificates?
Once you have successfully redeemed part of your gift certificate(s), your balance will be tied to your account. We will send you an email notifying you that you have a balance. You can put the remaining balance of your gift certificate towards a future purchase.
Do gift certificates expire?
Half.com gift certificates do not expire.
